Outsource to the Caribbean

LAYTONSVILLE, MD (May 8, 2019) — Transparent BPO, a nearshore contact center and business process outsourcer with operations in Belize, today announced that Rob Johnson, Vice President of Global Operations, will be a panelist at the Outsource to the Caribbean (OCC 2019) conference, being held May 9-10, 2019, in Curaçao.

OCC 2019 is an annual pan-Caribbean outsourcing event for BPO-industry companies sponsored by the Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) in collaboration with other Caribbean investment promotion agencies.

Johnson will be one of four panelists, each representing Caribbean-based BPOs, who will discuss reasons their respective organizations chose to invest in the region. The session, entitled “The View from the BPO Firms — Why did we invest in the Caribbean?,” is set to take place Friday, May 10, at 11:20 AST.

During the session, each panelist will have the opportunity to share their company’s origin story, the services they offer, and goals for future investment. They will also express their opinions on what changes are required in the region to make those a reality. Time will be set aside to answer follow-up questions from the audience as well.

“I’ve been involved with organizations focused on BPO industry development in Belize, which is why I was invited to participate,” Johnson said. “That’s exciting because, in addition to discussing the strengths of the region generally, I get to talk about Transparent BPO, why we chose Belize as the country to locate our call centers, and the core values that make our company unique to the area.”

The BPO panel is only one part of a conference agenda that will cover nearly every aspect of the outsourcing ecosystem in the Caribbean, including training institutions, government representatives, real estate brokers, telecommunications firms, and BPO clients and influencers.

“Overall, OCC 2019 is about attracting BPOs to the Caribbean,” said Suzette Hudson, Senior Advisor, Investment Promotion, CEDA, regarding the central focus of the conference. “We are looking to BPO firms, such as Transparent BPO, that have invested here to talk about the strengths of the region and share recommendations to why others should also consider it as an option.”
