For Immediate Release

LAYTONSVILLE, MD (September 6, 2018) — Transparent BPO, a nearshore contact center and business process outsourcer, announced today that it is expanding operations in Belize with the addition of a 32,900 square foot contact center located on the Phillip Goldson Highway in Belize City.

The new center, the third since the company’s founding in 2009, will consist of four floors and add 465 agent seats for a total of 1,280 across the three locations, making Transparent BPO the largest contact center in Belize.

“We are always anticipating continued growth in our company, so construction of this new facility is a priority,” says Scott Newman, Transparent’s founder and CEO, regarding the reason for construction. “The building will enable us to increase our current capacity while making room for future expansion. Transparent BPO is one of the largest employers in the country. The jobs and career opportunities we provide have a huge impact here.”

Transparent BPO chose VP Holdings, a commercial construction firm located in Belize City, to construct the new facility. The company is regarded as a premier builder of offices, retail stores, and apartment complexes across the region.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to work with Transparent BPO in building a world-class facility, the first of its kind in Belize and a first for our company,” says Dhiraj Nandwani, managing director for VP Holdings. “This project reflects the determination of both our companies to continue investing in Belize and see the country grow economically. It’s a partnership we hope will continue for many years.”

The new building will contain several features unique to other contact centers in the area.

“The building is designed in such a way that everything and everyone can function at the highest level possible,” says Rob Johnson, VP of global operations for Transparent BPO. “For instance, in addition to standard break rooms located near agent work areas, there will be multiple food vendors with a large covered outside area right outside so that agents can enjoy the great Belizean weather and beautiful view of the water. Also, every floor will have its own training and calibration rooms, as well as offices clients can reserve on an as needed basis.”

Another first is an emphasis on reducing the building’s environmental impact.

“We always had a desire to improve the footprint from a green standpoint,” Johnson says. “This building will have a high-efficiency HVAC system, LED lighting, and insulated concrete walls. The design truly sets a high standard for all other contact centers in the area.”

Construction of the building is already underway with crews breaking ground in May. Occupancy is expected toward the end of 2019.
