New Online Shopping Portal Rewards Employee Job Performance

LAYTONSVILLE, MD (November 28, 2018) — Transparent BPO (TBPO), a nearshore contact center and business process outsourcer with operations in Belize, today announced the launch of the Employee Rewards Center, an online shopping portal where TBPO staff can use credits earned for performance to buy products, bid on auction items, and enter raffles.
Items included in the rewards center vary widely, from Transparent BPO-branded merchandise and snack shop credits to furniture, appliances, airline tickets, school tuition, cash prizes, and more. Credits are awarded for perfect attendance, tenure, working during holidays, and program-level KPI performance.
The idea for the portal was born from a desire to incentivize performance throughout the year rather than just during the holidays, as the company had done in the past.
“Traditionally, we hold a raffle during our annual holiday party, in December, and award prizes to employees based on meeting performance thresholds,” said Jon Williams, director of operations, TBPO. “We wanted to augment that by also rewarding employees all year long, enabling them to get things they want immediately rather waiting until the end of the year. The Employee Rewards Center gives us that opportunity.”
To make a purchase, bid on an auction item, or enter a raffle, employees log into the portal using a unique username and password. Inside, they can see their purchase history, number of credits earned, and current credit balance. They can transact on as many items and as many times as their credits allow.
Another reason for the rewards portal, according to Williams, was to add an element to the employee benefits package, which, currently, includes competitive compensation, health insurance, bonuses, employee discount card program, and career advancement opportunities.
“We are a company that believes in giving back to our employees and doing things that change their lives,” Williams said. “The rewards program is a tangible way to accomplish that. It’s like icing on the cake of our already extensive benefits package and sets us apart from what other BPOs provide their employees.”

Currently, the rewards center is being used in connection with the upcoming holiday party but will be put into full operation at beginning of the year.
