(Washington, D.C.) – Marking its twelfth anniversary, the 2017 Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic, presented by Transparent BPO, is set for May 15, 2017 at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA. Proceeds benefit the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS): to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. “It’s an honor for all of us at Transparent BPO to be a part of this exciting tournament and to support the live-saving work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society,” said CEO, Scott Newman.

The Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic is a high-profile, celebrity golf tournament featuring Washington Redskins players, coaches, front office executives, alumni and media personalities. Linebacker and Pro Bowler, Ryan Kerrigan hosts this exclusive event which includes golf at one of Northern Virginia’s premier courses, live & silent auctions, reception, dinner and awards ceremony.

“I am proud to be hosting this event for the third straight year. It’s been an honor to work with such dedicated volunteers – all coming together for such a worthy cause. In addition to being a really fun day for me and my teammates, it’s incredibly gratifying to see how the funds we help raise are contributing to real advancements in blood cancer therapies,” said Kerrigan.

Larry Michael, Senior Vice President and “Voice of the Washington Redskins” is the Honorary Chairman of the event. The 2017 Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic Tournament Chairs are Jamie Graham of KippsDeSanto & Co and Brian Nelsen of The Carlyle Group. They led an executive committee of more than 20 high-ranking executives who represent several major corporations in the Washington, D.C. area.

“The Leukemia Golf Classic is a fantastic way to make a real impact on blood cancer research and have fun at the same time. No other tournament in our area brings together so many members of the Redskins organization, together with area business executives,” said Graham.

“Through events like this tournament, LLS is pioneering novel breakthrough therapies that are changing the landscape of cancer care. It’s extremely rewarding to see results in our lifetime!” commented Nelsen.

Providing inspiration for the committee members and golfers are the event’s Honored Hero Patients: 5-year-old, Mason Mazzuca and 10-year-old, Kasyn Olivadotti. Both are leukemia survivors and avid Redskins fans! Olivadotti is the daughter of Redskins’ Inside Linebackers Coach, Kirk Olivadotti.

There are limited foursomes and sponsorship opportunities available for this event. For more information visit www.lls.org/nca/leukemiagolfclassic, or call (703) 399-2906.
